Frustrated with your skincare routine; tired of spending hundreds of dollars on skincare products that just does not work! Sounds like such a huge problem right? Well what if I told you that I have a solution to your problem and that solution would save you hundreds of dollars and wasted time on various skincare products. When I first discovered this technique it saved my dollars and my skin. Yes! So are you ready? You may want to write this down because it will be broken down into two sections: HAVE PATIENCE! Yeah, yeah, yeah I know it sounds simple, but this appears to be the hardest phase of any skincare routine. I'm almost sure your wondering what the heck does this have to do with anything, but stick around while I explain.
When selecting skincare products the key factor in determining which product to use should be the ingredients. The active ingredients in skincare products could provide somewhat of a timeline to expect visual results. Of course this may vary by person, but the time expectancy should range fairly the same. Skincare products that contain acids usually have a rapid skin-cell turnover rate, which in turn yields faster visible results. The downside to rapid skin-cell turnover is purging, if you're not familiar with purging refer back to my prior blog post: Skin Purging! Less harsher ingredients such as natural oils and extracts may have a longer timeline expectancy on visual results, but the outcome is priceless! Other factors that may contribute to the process of seeing visual results like diet, lifestyle, skin type, and ingredient purity and strength.
Below is a cheat sheet that I made to help you out:
Salicylic Acid 1-7 days
Ceramides 2-4 weeks
Hyaluronic Acid immediately
Glycolic Acid 2-6 weeks
Vitamin C 1-2 months
Vitamin A 3-4 months
Vitamin B3 8 weeks
AHA 3-4 weeks
Kojic Acid 1-2 weeks
With any skincare routine, if you want to see improved results you have to be patient and consistent! Be patiently waiting on your results, while consistently using your skincare products. While some products may yield results overnight, some in two days, but longer timeframes allows a full skin-cell turnover to take place, which is when you can usually start to see all the benefits from your new skin care products.
