Being grounded is an essential skill to have. It means that you are both present in your body and connected with the earth, thus allowing you to feel centered and balanced despite your current surrounding circumstances. 

​When you are not properly grounded, you're like a ship without a sail: thrown in any direction that the wind blows. Thus, making you very vulnerable and thrown off balance very quickly.  This can also lead to an unstable emotional down spiral. But when you are well grounded, you are like a strong tree planted by the rivers. If there are any disruptions in your environment, it does not have any effect on how you feel internally and you're able to lead a more peaceful and balanced  daily life. 

Here are a few ways to remain grounded:

1. Any physical activity (sports, walking, dancing, exercising, etc.) will automatically ground you.
2. Meditation is a great means to ground yourself. Just focus your attention on your breathing and clear your mind.  This can also help balance your chakras. 
3. Earthing- walking barefoot on any natural surface (sand, grass, soil, etc.). Studies have shown that 
hat earthing changed the electrical activity in the brain, as measured by electroencephalograms.

These are just a few effective ways to help you ground yourself and feel more centered, strong and balanced throughout your day.
